A Christmas Carol 2025
Date
November 2025
Location
Portland Stage
Role
Apprentice Stitcher and Wardrobe Head
For Portland Stage's 2025 production of A Christmas Carol, I built a pair of fall-front breeches for Master Scrooge out of a light brocade. I began by altering an existing hand-drafted pattern by Susan Thomas, including adding a belt in the back to make the breeches adjustable. I then cut and constructed the breeches, paying special attention to directionality and pattern placement, before finishing them following a fitting I assisted, conducted by the costume coordinator.
*At the time this page was updated, the production photos have not been taken yet, so the most complete photo to date is from the final fitting; the only change that has been made is the completion of the hem.
